Jacqueline Harris began the breeding operation at Hideaway Farm in 1956 with legends such as Tooreen Laddie and Erin Bay (both imported from Ireland). With this dynamic duo she obtained ten outstanding foals.

Jacqueline explained, "We wanted to keep the good qualities of wonderful temperament, stamina and jumping ability and emphasize the attractiveness of head and eye with good movement."

Erin Go Bragh

The Connemara most near and dear to Jacqueline's heart is her third generation stallion, Hideaway's Erin Go Bragh (a product of Hideaway's Erin Smithereen and Hideaway's Centerfold).

Go Bragh won the ACPS McKenna Trophy, the Camlin and An Tostal Trophies. He was AHSA Zone I Champion and at the time of his retiring from eventing was "The Winningest Stallion in the History of the USCTA." Trained and ridden by Carol Kozlowski, Go Bragh was a force to reckon with at the advanced level in eventing despite, or possibly due to, his small size of 15.1 hands.

Jacqueline states: "Go Bragh is kindly, affectionate, very intelligent and extremely talented. He is serious about his work and anxious to please. No wonder he make friends wherever he goes. If a human were to have his qualities, he would be considered Nature's Nobleman."

Hideaway Farm continues the tradition of breeding exceptional Connemaras and wants to thank all of those Connemara friends for the tremendous outpouring of appreciation and love for our mother, Jacqueline Stirlin Harris.
